bcb723 From the first distorted bass note to the final fading synth, "Prolog" is a real bummer lol. It's really true when they say how music is universal. Because though I have no idea what's going on lyrically, I'm feeling every note. To the level where I could be another dude standing head down in their circle band photo (go directly to their Metallum page for that classic pic omfg 🤣). An album where black metal, death & doom all collide into one sad Swedish whole. Buy the vinyl - goddamn greatness. Favorite track: En Himlakropps Dödsbädd.

The Swedish Masters in GRAVKVADE breathe life into the ghastly realms of Funeral Doom and Depressive Black Metal. With 4 new lumbering and crushing offerings of utter despair and aural misery, ripe with funereal gloom and ravenous aggression. PROLOG is a taste of what's to come as this album marks the beginning of their sonic expansion of 5 conspirators.

There's nothing I can really compare this group to, and I think that is special in this day and age. GRAVKVADE can hold their own with the kings in Esoteric & Evoken and with bands like Nyktalgia, Xasthur, Trist & Leviathan. I'm not a big fan of the swedish bands and their sound but when it comes to GRAVKVADE they are in a league of their own and I cant not get enough. I'm extremely pleased to get to put this album out for them and continue our partnership with one another.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight).
