Dave Aftandilian I love how TE introduces a melodic theme and then returns to it over and over, helping us experience it anew each time. Listening to this album feels like entering a cavern deep inside yourself, speaking a Word, and experiencing how its returning deafening echo makes you feel as it grinds over your body and mind, again and again and again.

Hayduke X I'm exceptionally picky about funeral doom, but this one checks all the right boxes, and maybe the fact that it's on the fast paced side for the genre helps with that. Mournful riffs build like a surging tide to overwhelm the listener in misery. Favorite track: Dissolution of the Threefold Self (III).

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight).
